Alma S. Nutter, 85 of Dallas, Texas, formerly of Deland, Florida passed away on July 21, 2008 at the Lancaster Nursing Center just outside of Dallas, Texas. She was born November 22, 1922 in Brooklyn, NY. Daughter of the late Capt. Peder A. Pedersen.
Alma is survived by 2 daughters and their husbands and one son. Deanna (Ken) Simons of Mars Hill, ME, Donna (Johnny) Cruz of Dallas, TX and Lawrence Peder Silvestro of Florida, also 2 stepdaughter's and on stepson. Alice Bernhart and Pam Clinton of Florida and Donald Eugene Nutter of North Carolina. She is also survived by 2 granddaughters and 3 grandsons. Karen (Darin) Shorey of St. George, N.B. Canada, Sarah (Jay) Price of North Carolina, Kenneth P. Simons of Richmond, VA and Rev. Eric (Marianne) Simons of Randolph, NJ and Timothy Plucinski of Texas and 10 great-grandchildren.
Alma was a longtime member of the Sanctuary Church of God in Deland, Florida, where she will be missed by many friends.
Alma had many varied jobs during her lifetime, but her favorite was “Knitting for the Lord” after her retirement. She would make over 100 sweaters each year and give them all away to various churches on her many trips between Florida, Maine and Texas as well as orphanages in Romania and Israel. She enjoyed many summers here in Aroostook County and is now enjoying the Presence of her Lord and Savior.
