Gerald (Jerry) R. Hand, 76, of Ocklawaha, Florida, passed away on Tuesday, November 20, 2013 at Ocala Regional Medical Center. He was born in Houlton, the son of Josephine Blackie Hand and the late Charles W. Hand. Jerry was the husband of the late Georgette Sherman Hand.
Jerry was a U.S. Navy Veteran and was employed by the Town of Tolland. He will be missed by his pals from the Highway Crew and the Senior Center.
He is survived by three children, Jack Hand and his wife, Bonnie of Wahoo, Nebraska, Susan Isch of Tolland, CT, Gerilyn Ridzon and her husband, Steven, of Stafford Springs, CT; seven grandchildren, Keri Ann Noha, Rachel Maldaner, Maegan Hand, Kyle and Kristin Isch, and Bruce and Courtney Ridzon; six great-grandsons; two sisters, Carolyn Benn and her husband, Gerald, and Mary Currie and her husband, Bobby; two sisters-in-law, Dee Hand and Bernie Bassett; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. He was predeceased by two sons, Bruce and Brian Hand; brother, Wayne Hand; and a brother-in-law, Gerald Bassett.
