SMYRNA – Barry E. Short, 89, died December 11, 2013, in Houlton. He was born November 14, 1924, in Aurora, Ill, the son of Ned and Viola (Diem) Short.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during WWII and a Civil Service officer for the Air Force, retiring after 20 plus years. He was on the Board of Directors of Aroostook Area Agency on Aging and a member of the Good Sam Club.
He is survived by his four children, Kerry Leone and her husband, Robert of Gray, Kevin Short of Smyrna, Kelli White and her husband, James of E. Wareham, MA, and Jason Short and his wife, Wendy of Norfolk, VA; nine grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; several nieces and nephews.
