You have all heard of, read and evaluated the large glossy “coffee table books” – very expensive and making statements loud and clear.
Well, our book this week could be considered such a book, yet for little coffee tables or a nightstand beside a bed.
“Maine Coast Memories” by David Middleton is small with delightful pictures covering the coastal scenes in summer and fall. Dories, inns, beaches, lighthouses and footbridges are featured prominently as expected, along with Red’s Eats in Wiscasset.
This little volume might serve to entice friends and families from other parts of the U.S.A.to visit on vacations and join the annual tourist trek. Maine residents are often treated to such pictures just as part of our state landscape and will find them familiar.
Still, the colored scenes are a wonderful change from snow and ice surrounding Houlton at the moment.
Many such beautiful photography books and magazines are available in Cary Library. Come by soon and check some out.
