HOULTON, Maine — The fifth annual Walking Like M.A.D.D./Remembering Darcie C. Hutchinson walk will be held Saturday, April 5 at 1 p.m.
Walkers will meet at the Houlton High School parking lot.
“The ‘Darcie Connection’ is making a difference,” said event organizer Heather McCarthy. “We continue to grow in participation numbers every year and look forward to having people join us on April 20.”
Darcie C. Hutchinson was a graduate of the Class of 1993 at HHS. A drunk driver tragically killed her on Sept. 13, 1996, in Connecticut.
While the group is walking in Houlton, Hutchinson’s siblings, Nicole and Jasen, will be walking in Durham, N.C. to support Mothers Against Drunk Drivers.
“All are encouraged to come, so bring your friends and family,” McCarthy said. “Together, with your support, we can help raise awareness and make a difference as we remember Darcie’s smiling face!”
There is no cost to participate in the walk, but donations will be accepted. All proceeds will go to M.A.D.D.
