Cunha earns Katahdin Principal’s Award

    PATTEN, Maine — Matthew Cunha of Patten, a senior at Katahdin High School has been selected to receive the 2014 Principal’s Award, Principal Eryn Schmidt announced April 2. He is the son of David and Debbie Cunha. The award, sponsored by the Maine Principals’ Association, is given in recognition of a high school senior’s academic achievement and citizenship.
“Throughout his years at Katahdin High School, Matthew has distinguished himself in the classroom, as well as being a member of student council, National Honor Society, Performing Arts Club of Katahdin and sports,” Schmidt said.
Schmidt and Cunha joined other award winners and their principals at an Honors Luncheon at the Spectacular Event Center in Bangor on April 5.
The Principal’s Award is presented in more than 140 Maine public and private high schools by member principals of the MPA, the professional association which represents Maine’s school administrators.
