Maine’s 13 newest troopers joined the State Police Friday in graduation ceremonies at the Maine Criminal Justice Academy in Vassalboro. With Governor LePage looking on, the new troopers received their badges from the Chief of the State Police, Colonel Robert Williams. The new troopers have spent the past nine weeks in specialized State Police instruction and procedures and will now begin patrolling with a veteran trooper.
The chief told the new troopers that expectations for them were high. “You will see the best and worst of people and called upon to make decisions in a fraction of a second. The public expects nothing less.” Williams said.
Assigned to Troop F in Houlton were: Adam Bell from Sanford, who graduated from Hodgdon High School and Maine Maritime Academy; John Darcy of Thompson, Conn., who graduated from Worcester State University; and Ethan Doody of Wade, a graduate of Washburn High School and the University of Maine.
