HOULTON – Austin Stanley Kinney Sr., 93, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on April 25, 2014. He was born September 9, 1920, at North Lake, N.B., Canada, the second child of Thomas and Mary (Fox) Kinney.
Austin served in the Royal Canadian Air Force. He owned and operated Kinney and Sorge Store in Fosterville, N.B. for several years. He was employed by Bangor and Aroostook railroad for 29 years. After retiring, Austin and his wife owned and operated Kinney Boarding Home.
He married the love of his life, Barbara Bartlett, on August 11, 1951. Together they have eight children, Ginger, Fawner, Candice, Mary, Austin Jr., Kevin, Timothy and Rebecca; 15 grand-children; and ten great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Ruth Sorge; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Max.
