Marie J. (Haggerty) Corey, 85, of Manchester, CT, and Littleton, ME, the wife of the late Frederick Corey, died peacefully Sunday, April 27, 2014, surrounded by her family, at her home in Manchester. Born in Houlton, she was the daughter of the late Augustus and Marguerite (McKinnon) Haggerty.
Prior to and after raising her family, which was her greatest accomplishment, Marie held several jobs.
She is survived by her children; Timothy Corey and wife, Mary Ann Corey, of Rocky Hill, Kathleen Corey Rahme and husband, Elie Rahme, of Methuen, MA, Daniel Corey and wife, Amy Corey, of Monticello, David Corey of Manchester, Matthew Corey and Lisa Meek Bushnell of Manchester, Shawn Corey of Manchester, and Beth Corey and husband, Daniel Robichaud, of Fredericton, N.B., Canada; and her grandchildren, Samuel and Rachel Corey, Marie, Michael and Madeline Rahme, Sara, Jon and Ben Corey, Haleigh Rose Corey, and Jennah and Shannon Robichaud. She is also survived by her siblings, Thomas Haggerty and Agnes “Bridgie” Luby, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and her canine companion Miley. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her daughter-in-law, Michelle Corey; and her siblings, Charles Haggerty, Dolores Jordan and Ann O’Brien.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 2 at noon at St. James Church, 896 Main Street, Manchester followed by burial in St. James Cemetery.
