HOULTON – F. Jean Ward, 86, passed away May 3, 2014 at a local hospital. She was born Feb. 2, 1928, at Houlton, the daughter of Fred and Fern (Shields) Munroe.
Jean was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed reading books, watching movies and spending time with family and friends.
Jean is survived by her son, Fred Ward and his wife, Martha, of Winterport; her daughter, Barbara Sullivan of Houlton; four grandchildren, Keith Ward of MA, Kyle Ward of Winterport, Rachael Upton and her husband, Vernon, of Houlton, Jessica Bassi and her husband, Mike, of Bangor; four great-grandchildren, Joshua Upton of Houlton, Julia, Olivia and Jacob Bassi, all of Bangor; three brothers, Paul Munroe and his wife, Marguerite, of Portland, Philip Munroe and his wife, Joyce, of OH, Floyd Munroe and his wife, Vicky, of New Limerick; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Karlton S. Ward; and three brothers, Bernard and James Hannigan, and Louis Munroe.
Friends may call Wednesday 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. at Saint Mary of the Visitation Church with Deacon Al Burleigh officiating.
