The Houlton High School tennis teams were in action last week, with only one home match.
On Monday in Fort Kent, the girls’ tennis team was defeated 5-0.
In singles play: Lauren Doak (FK) def. Tessa Winship, 8-0; Kelsey Pelletier (FK) def. Calleigh Sullivan, 8-1; and Alexa Pelletier (FK) def. Piper Flewelling, 8-2. Doubles: Amelia Guimond and Sam Dubay (FK) def. Sarah Delano and Emily Mooers, 8-5; and Brooke Jandreau and Rudy Martin (FK) def. Janelle Levesque and June Choi, 8-4.
In their second match, Fort Kent won 4-1, as Houlton’s doubles team of Lauren Hogan and Lexi Bartlett topped Fort Kent’s Caitlyn Gray/Cassie McLeod, 8-6.

Last Tuesday, the visiting Van Buren girls shut out Houlton, 5-0.

At Lincoln last Wednesday, the Mattanawcook Academy girls topped Houlton, 3-2.

In boys’ action, the Shiretowners defeated Fort Kent, 3-2, on Monday.
