After a brief rainstorm, Ol’ Sol is shining through again. We are grateful for the sun.
Thank you to all who participated in our armed forces. Memorial Day is here. Time to say “thank you.” We don’t do it often enough.
Jeannie Hall is still a patient in our local hospital. Jeannie has spent several days there and hopes to be home soon. Rose Levesque attended the wedding of her granddaughter in New York. Her son from New Hampshire accompanied her.
It was nice to spend some time with Margaret Campbell, a resident at Gardiner Nursing Home Facility. Margaret is a former Pioneer Times employee and moved to Gardiner in January from Century House.
I attended the play, “Maximilian Saint of Auschwitz,” based on true facts, at St. Mary of the Visitation Church last Wednesday. The play was powerful. A spaghetti supper preceded the play, a wonderful way to spend an evening.
Our computer is “down.” Oh, how we do depend on technology.
Paul Phelan, brother of editor Lois, was recently interviewed on Channel 6, Portland, at a nursing home where Paul volunteers by entertaining on the piano. I was able to view it via Google. Paul, 93, a veteran, visits Stonybrook every Thursday and has done so for many years.
Memorial Day or Decoration Day is time to decorate the graves.
Molly Bailey from Smyrna Street and a well known volunteer, is a patient at Houlton Regional Hospital. We all send our love.
