Stove explodes in New Limerick fire — Damage estimated at $15,000 was done early this morning, when fire leveled the New Limerick farm buildings occupied by Mr. and Mrs. Walter Willette. The blaze started from the explosion of an oil stove. The maid arose about 3:30 to heat some water for Mrs. Willette, who was ill. Soon after, it exploded and flames enveloped the entire building, so that the occupants barely escaped without injury. The hired man lost all of his hair as the flames singed his head.
Fireworks restricted in town — At the last meeting of the Town Council, it was voted not to grant any licenses to sell fireworks within the fire district as a safety precaution. Fireworks may be sold outside the fire district, Town Manager Brackett stated, but the sale will not be permitted prior to July 3. The license fee is $10.
