Take Off Pounds Sensibly, Chapter 0233, met at the Aldergate building on High Street Friday, August 1, for their weekly meeting. Leader Diane Folsom was in charge. Eleven TOPS attended with three KOPS (Keep Off Pounds Sensibly). Loser of the week was Janette Nelson with Lois Downing as runner-up.
Officer Barbara Grant installed new officers. The new positions are: leader, Betty Wyman; co-leader, Diane Folsom; secretary, Cheryl Driscoll; treasurer, Janette Nelson; weight recorder, Joanne Scott; co-weight recorder, Denise Clark.
Outgoing officer Diane presented all officers with gifts thanking them for their year in office. It was an impressive ceremony with each receiving a bottle of spice, according to their office and what each is supposed to do while in office. Janette Nelson gave a monthly financial report. Joanne Scott and Charlotte Marley also gave reports in absence of Cheryl Driscoll.
Denise Clark took the skinny dish home and the 50/50 drawing went to Janette Nelson. After the ceremony new leader Betty Wyman took command of the meeting. Each week weigh-in is done from 8-8:45 a.m. No weight is measured after this time. A meeting is held at 9 a.m. and usually lasts an hour. Come, enjoy and take off weight.
