SMYRNA & HOULTON – Helena Irene (Ouellette) Lilley, 78, passed away July 30, 2014, at a local healthcare facility surrounded by her family. She was born August 29, 1935, in Dover, NH, the daughter of Leopold and Edwina (Mailloux) Ouellette.
Helena grew up in Rollinsford, NH. Helena worked for many years as a legal secretary. In 1975, she married Gordon Lilley and they made their home in Smyrna. Helena loved scrap booking, rug hooking and photography. She had a passion for making memorable gifts for her children and grandchildren. She was a very loving mother, memere and also found enjoyment in meeting people and talking with them. She was also a very giving person especially when it came to charities.
Helena is survived by her children, Wayne Tibbetts and his wife, Monique of Maine; Anne St. Pierre and her husband, Daniel, of Merrill; Jean Sloat and her husband, Richard, of Hodgdon; eleven grand-children; fourteen great-grand-children; sister, Edwina Renaud of Rollinsford, NH; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Gordon Lilley and her brother, George Ouellette.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday, Aug. 4 at Saint Mary of the Visitation with Rev. David Raymond celebrant. Interment was in the Smyrna Cemetery.
