It was a fantastic and busy week at VaJoWa.
There are no results from the Pairs and Spares Scramble on Sunday, Aug. 11, but we will be sure to get them next week! Join in at 3 p.m. every Sunday with a $2.50 per person entry fee.
Fifteen teams vied for the win on Sunday, Aug. 11 at The County Open Scramble held at VaJoWa! First gross was a tie between the teams of Warren Walker, Steve Merry, Phil Desmond and Bill Boulier and Scot Walker, Mike Harris, Chuck Stevens and Cary Green with a 59.
Third gross with a 61 was Joe Clukey, Ben Walker, Alan Anderson and Pam Kropp-Anderson.
First net with a 49 was Parker Walker, Stephen Walker, Tim Thoreson and Trent Cullinan. Francis Cyr, Sally Cyr, Brandon Robinson and Ronnie Robinson brought in a 50 for second net. A 51 was third net with the team of Grady Anderson, Chris Eastham, Kevin Carton and Jordan Shaw. Congratulations to all teams and thank you for supporting this annual fund-raising event for the Health Services Foundation.

On Wednesday, Aug. 20, we will be hosting the Upper St John Men’s Seniors.
VaJoWa Golf Course is hosting an old-fashioned 18-hole Field Day on Saturday, Aug. 23 with a shotgun start at 10 a.m. This is an individual stroke play event that will use 100 percent of a player’s handicap. After the round, enjoy the outdoor chicken barbecue. Cash prizes are awarded for both net and gross winners. All this for only $30 per member and their guest(s). Non-guest player are $40. We are proud to invite all lady golfers to our VaJoWa Ladies first Luau Golf Invitational on Wednesday, Sept. 17! A continental breakfast will be available from 9-10 a.m., with a 10 a.m. shotgun start. This will be a scramble format with an entry fee of $40 per non-member and $35 per member. Fee includes: green fees, carts, breakfast, dinner after golf and prizes (bring a bag lunch or order one from the restaurant).
