Cary Library Corner

Editor’s note: The following article is a synopsis written by staff members and volunteers of the Cary Public Library highlighting one of the suggested reading books, as determined by their staff.
The roller skating bear and his precocious Mouse friend are back in all their glory!

“A Library Book For Bear” by Bonny Becker with Kady MacDonald Denton’s dreamy illustrations is pure delight for reading to little ones, or for a “read-alone with expression.”
Bear believes he has enough books and doesn’t need the library. Well, just guess who gets a wee bit of education and not  just about pickles, either.  He discovers libraries are not too big; there are not too many books in the library, and pickles can be treasures with or without wings.
He learns about “library voices” but will loudly express his opinions which is where the illustrator has matched the expressions with Bear’s words. A fun book.
To adults: if you haven’t read to a child lately, perhaps you’d like to read some of the Junior Fiction for yourself; that’s fun too and surprising what you can learn.
And if you are interested in pickles, there are books in Cary Library for that passion as well.
The Cary Public Library is open Monday-Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. For more information, call 532-1302.
