SMYRNA – Ruth Grant Splan, 71, of Smyrna died peacefully August 27, 2014, in Houlton surrounded by her family. She was born September 27, 1942, in Smyrna, the daughter of Evelyn and Carl Grant.
Ruth enjoyed playing bingo, doing puzzles, playing cards with friends, picking berries and having strawberry shortcake with her family.
Ruth leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her devoted son, Ronald Splan, Jr. and wife, Carey, of Stacyville; two adoring daughters, Peggy and Philip Heath of Oakfield, and Annette and John Belyea of Houlton; five sisters, Carleen Sanders, Lorraine Splan, Sandra Grant, Harriet Carr, and Melissa Grant; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she loved very much; special friends Ada, Ramona, and Desirae. She was predeceased by her husband, Ronnie of 37 years; an infant son, Gary; daughter, Charlotte; brother, Henry and her parents.
