STAFF DEVELOPMENT DAY — ACAP recently held a Staff Development Day at UMPI. With nearly 120 employees assisting 17,000 clients across Aroostook County it was a great way to gear up for a busy fall and winter season to help our low-income neighbors and friends from Aroostook County. Pictured are the participants, representing ACAP offices from throughout Aroostook.
“We have nearly 120 staff members across Aroostook County that work hard every day to provide excellent customer service to nearly 17,000 clients annually,” explained ACAP Executive Director Connie Sandstrom. “Our employees do amazing work with limited resources. We were pleased to offer a Staff Development Day at the UMPI Campus Center on Aug. 25, allowing for a rare opportunity for county-wide personnel to gather in one place for staff training and, equally important, to network and collaborate.”
Staff participated in a day of team-building and learning events.
“It has been several years since we have been able to do this,” said Jo-Ellen Kelley, community education specialist for ACAP/Healthy Aroostook. “What I most enjoyed about the day was the opportunity to talk with my co-workers in a setting outside of the office. It can provide fresh insight and perspective. It was a day to remind ourselves why we do what we do.”
