It’s time I was back on the computer after a little absence. When one has company, it is hard to find time to concentrate—sometimes I have a hard time without company! (It’s a Joan Rivers joke.) We were saddened by her death even though at first I did not like her style, she grew on me. Laughter is good for the soul.
Another beautiful day in Aroostook County! With the summer ending, we will be experiencing some fantastic fall days. For some, fall is their favorite season. I like all seasons except for the extreme cold, ice and snow that we will see in a few months.
I thought the article featuring a story on our Houlton Farms Dairy Bar in the Bangor Daily News Sept. 3 was an excellent one. I went there twice recently and usually buy the soft serve, one of my favorites. Have you been there recently? And their lobster rolls are a favorite. Sorry to say, the dairy bar will be closing soon as it usually does when school is in session.
One of our new tenants is Caroline Folsom. She has a black dog, larger than most of the dogs already here. Welcome to Caroline and may her stay be a long and happy one.
Stephanie James is also a new tenant, settling in before Caroline. Stephanie is a very youthful person with long brown hair. You will see her coming and going with her instruments, as she is one of a group of players. Stephanie, we will hear you someday if I am lucky.
Patrick Friel, who had a stroke several months ago, is able to move about on his wheelchair or whatever in the parking lot now. He will be doing “whirrlies” soon.
In closing I would like to offer my sympathy to Paul Armstrong in the loss of his mate, Gloria Jeannie Hall. She died of cancer at the nursing home on Saturday. Jeannie was courageous with this dreaded disease and our hearts go out to Paul, her beloved and devoted husband. She is at peace now.
Memo on angels: “Charitable service brings the most happiness to the one who gives it away. Let me help with the errand of angels, staying busy and happy all day.”
Have a good few days until the next “Rumblings.”
