Tuesday, Oct. 14, 8:30-10 a.m., Parent & Tots; 10 a.m. to 1p.m., walkers; 2-5 p.m., open gym and game room for grades 2-12; 5-6 p.m., Pi-yo; 6:15-7:15 p.m., Zumba; and 7:30-9 p.m., adult open gym.
Wednesday, Oct. 15, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., walkers; 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Rug Hookers; 2:45-5 p.m., open gym and game room for grades 2-13; and 6-7:30 p.m., adult volleyball.
Thursday, Oct. 16, 8:30-10 a.m., Parent & Tots; 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., walkers; 3-5 p.m., Musical Theater Class; 2:45-5 p.m., open gym and game room for grades 2-12; 5-6 p.m., Pi-yo; 6:15-7:15 p.m., Zumba; 6-8 p.m., Martial Arts Class; and 7:30-9 p.m., adult open gym.
Friday, Oct. 17, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., walkers; and 2:45-5 p.m., open gym and game room for grades 2-12.
Saturday, Oct. 18, 10 a.m. Bridge to Hope Breast Cancer Awareness Walk; 10 a.m., Martial Arts Class; 1-4 p.m., open gym and game room for grades 2-12.
Sunday, Oct. 19, 1-4 p.m., open gym and game room for grades 2-12.
Adult and youth supervision will be provided at all open gym and game room hours. Those younger than grade 2 must be with an adult to attend open gym and game room hours.
Musical Theater Class will be held each Thursday from 3-5 p.m. under the direction of Valerie Schultz. This seven-week program will start on Thursday, Oct. 16 and is open to all youth in grades 2-6. The program is designed with many opportunities for singing, dancing and acting. There will be a performance at the end for family and friends. Cost for the program is $45 and deadline for registration is Oct. 10. To register, call 532-1310.
Red Cross Baby Sitter Course will be offered on Saturday, Oct. 25 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Gentle Memorial Building. This course is open to ages 11-15 years. Here is a great chance to get skills, knowledge and confidence needed to take care of infants and young children. Cost is $50 per student. Registration is required. Call 532-1310 by Oct. 20.
Youth Art will be offered to grades 4-5 starting on Tuesday, Oct. 28 at the Houlton Recreation Center. Local Artist Frank Sullivan will be the instructor. Classes will be held each Tuesday from 3-4:30 p.m. Cost for the six-week program is $40. Registration is required by Friday, Oct. 24. Call 532-1310 to register.
Walkers are welcome to walk Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Gentle Memorial Building. This is free to all. Starts on Tuesday, Oct.14.
Parent & Tots is held every Tuesday and Thursday from 8:30-10 a.m. This free activity is for parents and their toddlers. Some toys will be provided. Make a play date with your friends.
Laser Youth Dance for grades 7, 8 and 9 on Friday, Oct. 24 at the rec center from 7-10 p.m. Music, laser and video show will be by KC & Company. Cost is $5 per student. Rules for the dance are once you are in, you have to stay in. Bring your friends for the first dance of the season.
Halloween Fun Party will be held at the rec center on Saturday, Oct. 25 from 1-2:30 p.m. Preschoolers through grade 4 are invited to the party. Cost is $5 per child and parents must accompany their children. Children are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes and be ready to play games, do a craft and have a snack. Make plans now for a fun family time.
