Melville, Mildred B., 71, September 30, 2014. Interment was held in the Littleton Cemetery.  Arrangements by Bowers Funeral Home, Houlton.

HOULTON – Mildred B. Melville, 71, died September 30, 2014 in Bangor.  She was born August 7, 1943 in Island Falls, the daughter of Maurice and Emlie (Moore) Brown.
    Millie was born and raised in Oakfield, and graduated from Oakfield High as the class valedictorian.  Growing up she enjoyed working outside and helping her father on the farm.  Throughout her years, Millie had a reputation for being a hard worker.   She put the Lord first in her life and spent much of her time studying God’s word or in prayer.  She was an active member of the Littleton Baptist Church where she was the custodian for many years. And she thoroughly enjoyed looking after her beloved grandchildren.
    She is survived by her husband, James Robert Melville of Littleton; children, Maria Melville Dubois and her husband, Sylvio of Limestone, Jamie Melville Higer and her husband, Dave of Naperville, Ill.; grandchildren, Brittany and Brandon Davenport of Naperville, Ill.; siblings, Marilyn Brown and her husband,  Ken Hodson of Bangor, Janet Moore of Oakfield and Charlie Brown and his wife, Cathy of Oakfield; several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her parents and her sister, Maureen Brown Bird.
    Friends called 6-8 p.m. Thursday, October 2nd at Bowers Funeral Home, 10 Water Street, Houlton.  Funeral services were held 11 a.m. on Friday at the Littleton Baptist Church with Rev.
