Monument Lodge of Houlton hosted Grand Master David A. Walker during his visit to Aroostook County Oct. 18. Walker was present for the annual First Masonic District Meeting of its eight lodges from Houlton to Fort Kent.
Jody Anderson, Master of Monument Lodge, said the supper and meeting was the conclusion of a busy day for the Monument Lodge which had hosted an open house for the public to come in, see the lodge hall and ask questions of the Masonic fraternity.
The meeting was attended by some 60 Masons and their ladies. Past Grand Master W. Louis Greenier, II of Caribou attended along with a dozen Grand Lodge Officers. A very special guest was Mildred McIntosh, Past Grand Matron of the State of Maine Eastern Star in 1961.
