NEW LIMERICK – Loretta H. Stewart, 84, passed away Nov. 6, 2014, at a local hospital surrounded by her family. She was born Oct. 12, 1930, at New Limerick, the youngest child of Arthur and Annie (Grover) Faulkner.
Loretta’s working career of 60 years started when she was 13, cleaning house for the Donald H. and Ella Dunn family and many other local families. She was a very dedicated and hard worker. In later years, she was employed at the Elm Tree Diner and with CLA. Loretta enjoyed many card games and playing on her tablet but playing bingo with her family and friends was her favorite. She also enjoyed snuggling with her favorite cat, Friskie.
Loretta is survived by her four daughters, Sandra Austin of New Limerick, Janice Dee and her husband, Bill of Mainstream, NB, twin daughters, Darleen Guy and her husband, Larry of New Limerick, Doreen Ritchie of Houlton; nine grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; her son, Robert Stewart; the father of her children, Floyd Stewart; great-grandson, Stephen McGary; two sons-in-law, Donald Austin and Stanley “John” Ritchie; her siblings, Earle Faulkner, Edith Dow, Edna Winham, Donald Faulkner, Harley Faulkner, Lois Day, Virginia Michaud, Lula Jeffery, George Faulkner and Norman Estabrook.
Friends called at the Dunn Funeral Home Sunday, Nov. 9 at 1 p.m. until the time of the service at 2 p.m. with Rev. David Tuttle officiating. Interment will be in the New Limerick Cemetery.
