HODGDON – Mary Rouse 93, died Nov. 6, 2014, at a local hospital. She was born Nov. 15, 1920, in Boston, Mass, the daughter of John and Antoinette (Guisti) Mucci.
Mary was a graduate of East Boston High School, Boston, Mass. She met and married W. Harold Rouse in 1943. Mary was the town manger in Linneus for many years, then secretary for the superintendent of schools in Hodgdon. She was a member of the Hodgdon Methodist Church and instilled her strong faith in her family. She was a
4-H leader for many years. Mary was a talented artist and loved gardening. She always looked for the best in people, especially children, and was very devoted to her family. She enjoyed time with special friends and will be missed by all who knew her.
Mary is survived by two daughters, Peggy Smallwood and her husband, Paul, of Clayton, NC, Joan Sullivan and her husband, Lewis, of Hodgdon; seven grand-children, several great-grand-children; her sister, Sue Todd of Burke, VA; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband; her siblings, Frank Mucci, Anne Mucci, Anthony Mucci, Camillo Mucci, Irene Donahue and Angie Faye; son-in-law, Ellsworth “Bucky” Malone; special friend, Charles Coffin.
Friends called at the Dunn Funeral Home, Sunday, Nov. 9 from 5 p.m. until the time of the service at 6 p.m. with Paula Lilley officiating. Interment will be in the Hodgdon Cemetery.
