CARRABASSET VALLEY — Mary Jane Cleary, an ACSR sales agent with F. A. Peabody Company of Houlton, recently was named the Insurance Professional of the Year and Client Service Professional of the Year at the annual Maine Council Convention.
Cleary is a member of the local chapter to the Council, the Insurance Association of Greater Houlton, an affiliate of the International Association of Insurance Professionals.
Each award recognizes excellence among those who have been employed in the insurance industry and whose primary responsibility is in a service capacity with internal and/or external customers. Among the criteria considered in conferring the awards are the candidate’s participation in association activities, involvement in the insurance industry, education programs, industry experience, current career position, activities undertaken in the community, and response to an industry related essay question.
The International Association of Insurance Professionals was officially organized in 1940 and is an association of insurance professionals dedicated to the development of leaders in the insurance industry. The national organization has 225 local associations throughout the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico. The association is best known for providing insurance education, skills enhancement, and leadership development to its members.
