HOULTON — After spending several years working with Dr. Robert Ellis, Dr. Jessica Philbrook has announced she is opening her own practice.
Dr. Philbrook said she was excited about her new business venture, Precision Eye Care, which is located at 29 Military St. in the State Farm Insurance building at the corner of Military and Kendall streets.
She is anticipating opening in early January.
Having cared for the eyes of greater Houlton area residents for the past eight and a half years alongside Dr. Ellis on Court Street, Dr. Philbrook decided to venture out on her own when Dr. Ellis decided to change his practice and become an employee of Vision Care of Maine.
Dr. Philbrook graduated from the New England College of Optometry in 2006 and is the only optometrist in Houlton licensed to treat glaucoma.
Her new office will provide comprehensive adult and pediatric eye exams, diabetic and cataract evaluations, diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases such as glaucoma, macular degeneration and dry eye disease, pre- and post-surgical eye care as well as glasses and contact lens fittings.
She will be accepting most major insurance plans, including MaineCare. Precision Eye Care can also assist with transferring eye history records from previous care providers to ensure a smooth transition.
