Gentle Memorial Building site of annual craft fair

HOULTON — The Gentle Memorial Building was the place to be Friday and Saturday, November 28 and 29 for the annual Rec Center Holiday Craft Sale.

A large group of people passed through the doors over the two-day craft fair, which has been a tradition at the Recreation Center for a number of years, with many individuals looking forward to the event as a place to purchase holiday presents for friends and family.
Friday was the busiest of the two days, with brisk sales reported. Students also sold refreshments to feed the masses.
According to Recreation Center officials, about 56 vendors had tables at the event, which is about the same as previous years. The gymnasium and basement room were lined with tables overflowing with items. Among the many items featured included homespun bags and purses; jewelry, knit mittens, wool socks, holiday décor, woodworking items, blown glass, along with jams, jellies and other homemade goodies; decorated wreaths and scrapbooking pages.
