Houlton soccer girls, coach honored

At Sunday’s  41st annual Maine Soccer Coaches banquet at the Spectacular Events Center in Bangor. Houlton girls coach Tim Tweedie, along with several of his players were honored for their hard work on the field.
During the ceremony, Chelsea Gentle, a junior defender, was one of 22 players to be named to the Maine All-State team. She was also named to the All-Eastern Maine Class C Team.

Emily Mooers, a senior striker, and Katie Condon, a junior goalkeeper, were also named to the All Eastern Maine Class C Team.
Tweedie was the recipient of two awards and nominated for another. He received the Eastern Maine Girls Soccer Coach of the Year Award (for all classes) and the Maine Small School Coach of the Year Award. He was also nominated for the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Region 1 Coach of the Year.
