Houlton Men’s League basketball action continues at the rec center

The Swamp Donkeys outscored the Scalabrine Squad by a wide spread of 84-44, rolling to an easy victory in Houlton Men’s League action. The Swamp Donkeys are in a solid second place after the win, with a current record of 7-2, with both losses coming from the undefeated Rec Legends.
Pat Michaud sparked the Scalabrine Squad with 12 points, after sinking four 3-pointers, which was the only highlight as they dropped to 4-5 on the season.

The Sofa Kings and the Monstars faced off in the rubber match of the three game series, with the 2-7 Sofa Kings winning, 52-35, moving into fourth place with the win.
Evan Carter had a well-rounded performance, after missing the last two games, with 15 points and 15 rebounds, along with three blocks and an assist. Seth Dorr tallied 10 points and a game high five assists. Dorr  leads the league in assists, which will give him a spot on the All-Star squad.
Monstars fell to 1-8 on the season. Alex Donovan used his height to his advantage, scoring 10 points and grabbing 16 rebounds along with a couple blocks. He leads the league in three different categories (rebounds, blocks and dunks).
On Sunday, the Sofa Kings were matched up again the Scalabrine Squad in the early contest, with the Sofa Kings overpowering the Scalabrine Squad, 78-47.
Against the Sofa Kings, Tarr led all scorers with a 26 points.
The Sofa Kings, who moved to 3-7, also placed three other players  in double figures (most of the season).  Chad Duff netted 16 points; Dorr with 14 points and five assists; and Andrew Savage sank 12 points (all in the second half).
The Scalabrine Squad, who is on a landslide, fell to 4-6.  The Squad was led by the efforts of Timmy Williams who had season high 21 points and seven rebounds.
The late game of the night matched the undefeated Rec Legends and the defending Men’s League Champions, the Swamp Donkeys.
The Rec Legends had a well-balanced attack with Adam Hogan leading the pack with a game high of 25 points (six 3-pointers). Sam Henderson accumulated another double double with 18 points and 14 rebounds. Marcus Crocker had a season high of 16 points; and DiStefano was the first player in the league to secure triple double with 12 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists, along with four blocks.
The Swamp Donkeys placed all players in the scoring column. Peter Bates had yet another monstrous game with 24 points and 16 rebounds. Justin Lenentine notched season high 23 points (hitting five 3’s) and James Bates with 16 points.
