Construction has pretty much been put on hold due to the cold weather. We are, however, continuing to work on raising funds to help complete our building. Our bake sales will resume again starting Feb. 7. If you are interested in helping with our bake sales, whether it be baking or working, please contact Lorraine at The Hollywood Pet Salon.
We have seed wreaths on sale at The Hollywood Pet Salon for $20. They are a wonderful way to feed the birds this winter.
We have been nominated for The Masonic Charitable Foundation grant, so we encourage everyone to visit the Masonic Charitable Foundation website and vote for The Ark Animal Sanctuary on a daily basis. Help us win this grant – it would help tremendously with our re-building efforts.
We have the fundraiser “Help Insulate Our Future” going on. We are asking for donations of insulation for the new building. Locally, our neighbors can purchase insulation and drop it off at the Hollywood Pet Salon or they can buy gift cards from the local hardware stores and bring them in as well. We are going to need lots of insulation to keep our babies warm.
We are also looking for windows and doors. Gently used is fine. The weather has been crazy this winter and we ask for everyone to bring in their pets in this bitter cold. No pets should be left outside with no shelter. Everyone out there – if you see an animal in need, please report it. You are their voice.
We at the Ark took the month of January off for some much needed rest, but are ready and anxious to get back into the swing of things. Our new building is our focus so we can get up and running again and, in the process, help more animals.
We want to thank everyone for their support and generosity. Without you our work would not be possible. You help us make a difference in the lives of so many animals every day and we truly appreciate that.
We are looking forward to a bright new future in 2015! Thank you for reading our column.
