Hope & Justice Project is gearing up for a month full of educational and awareness-raising events for Teen Dating Violence Awareness and Prevention Month. One in three pre-teens, teens, and 20-somethings experience physical, sexual, verbal, or emotional abuse from a dating partner. Aroostook County is stepping up and saying NO MORE.
Hope & Justice Project educators are busy scheduling a series of lunchtime tabling events with high schools, universities, and youth programs throughout the County. Because orange is the awareness color for Teen Dating Violence, students will be asked to write messages about healthy relationships on orange post-its and spread them throughout the hallways of their school. Participating students will receive an orange bracelet to symbolize their commitment to end abuse and violence in our communities.
Hope & Justice Project is also taking this campaign to social media! We are looking forward to seeing what youth in Aroostook County are doing to help end teen dating violence on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. We would love to see #Orange4Love and #Act2EndIt trending on social media throughout February.
