HOULTON — Those who may be looking for a new eye doctor, need look no further than Precision Eye Care. Dr. Jessica Philbrook opened the doors to her new business at 29 Military St. Suite B in Houlton after spending several years working with Dr. Robert Ellis.
“We offer eye exams for both adults and children,” Dr. Philbrook said. “If you’ve seen me in the past, I welcome you to continue seeing me at my new location at 29 Military Street, in the lower level of the State Farm building.” Featuring a state of the art exam room, screening room and a lab to do repairs and adjustments on glasses, Precision Eye Care has all of the features needed to care for one’s eyes. They also have a full array of frames on site for patients to try on and purchase.
“I want people to know that when they come here, they will be getting a lot of personal attention when they see me,” she said. “You are not treated like a number, nor will we rush you through your visit.”
Dr. Philbrook graduated from the New England College of Optometry in 2006 and is the only optometrist in Houlton licensed to treat glaucoma. She added she plans on caring for her patients for many years to come, offering stability when it comes to eye care.
Her new office will provide comprehensive adult and pediatric eye exams, diabetic and cataract evaluations, diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases such as glaucoma, macular degeneration and dry eye disease, pre- and post-surgical eye care as well as glasses and contact lens fittings.
Dr. Philbrook is also offering free eye exams for infants between 10-12 months of age. She is accepting new patients and most major insurance plans, including MaineCare. Precision Eye Care is open Monday through Thursday from 8-4 p.m., except for Tuesday evenings when it will remain open until 7 p.m.
