Houlton – Marjorie Ione (Bailey) Rush, 80, passed away February 4, 2015, at Hawthorne House. She was born March 24, 1934, in Monticello, the daughter of Aubrey A. and Minnie I. (Wasson) Bailey.
Marjorie enjoyed her daycare, sewing, knitting, rubber stamping, ceramics and family reunions at the Rush farm in Monticello. Mom was loved and thought of as “Grammie Rush” by many.
Marjorie is survived by her daughters, Patricia Flewelling and her husband, Frank, Diana Reece and her husband, Bernard, Sue Heath and her husband, Joel; her son, Terry Rush, and his wife, Sunae; grandchildren, Jaime Gilbert and her husband, Dean, Karen Horn and her husband, Wade, Derick Reece and his wife, Tara, Jan Stairs and her husband, Roger, Eric Rush and his wife, Krissy, Leslie, Ryan, Sara and Danielle Heath; great-grandchildren, Jack, Alex and Maddie Gilbert, Insley and Rush Horn, Zachary Reece, Madison and Caitlyn Reece, Joey and Kate Rush, and Kristyn Brooker; her siblings, James Bailey, Larry Bailey, Janice Sewell, Brenda Beale; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband of 56 years, Almon Rush; great-grandson, Ben Rush; brother, Aubrey Bailey Jr.; sister, Marie Winters. The family is indebted to the fantastic staff of the Hawthorne House of Freeport for the wonderful care that was given to Marjorie during her illness and to Beacon Hospice for the wonderful care and support the last two months.
