Support for families with special needs children

To the editor:
Hello, my name is Robin Levesque and I am the regional support coordinator for Maine Parent Federation (www.mpf.org). We are a statewide non-profit agency that provides support and information to families of children with disabilities or special health care needs.

I am also a member of a community collaborative group in Aroostook County called the Youth Vision Network. We are a group that addresses the needs of youth in our community, many with behavioral health needs, we work together with community groups and agencies providing advocacy, information and solutions through shared resources. We also address the concerns of high school dropout rates as well as substance abuse and other concerns affecting today’s youth.
We are very excited at Youth Vision Network to be celebrating our 20th year on Monday, March 30 in Caribou at the DHHS office from noon-3 p.m. We would love to invite the community to join us to gain a better understanding of what we do, and hopefully gain new members.
