Murder suspect’s father charged in domestic assault

HOULTON, Maine — An 81-year-old local man was arrested and charged with domestic assault after an incident on Friday morning.

Reginald “Jack” Dobbins was arrested at about 10:30 a.m. Friday after allegedly attacking the victim, Houlton Police Chief Joe McKenna said Monday.
The chief said he could not say where the incident took place because that might reveal the identity of the victim. He added that the victim was not seriously injured. McKenna said that when an officer arrived at the scene, there were signs the victim had been assaulted. Dobbins was arrested and taken to the Aroostook County Jail in Houlton, where he was booked and held without bail. He remained at the jail Monday.
Dobbins is the father of Reginald Dobbins, 18, who along with Samuel Geary, 16, was charged with murder on March 1 in the death of Keith Suitter.
Houlton Police Officer Stephen Nason investigated the domestic violence incident.
