The high school softball season continues to roll along.
Houlton 11, Madawaska 13; Houlton 13, Madawaska 4 — Last Saturday in Houlton, the Lady Shires hosted Madawaska in a doubleheader, with the teams splitting.


In Houlton’s losing game, the Lady Shires led 8-6 after four innings. The Owls scored four runs in the fifth and three more in the sixth to steal the game.
Liz Theriault hit a two-run homer, triple and two singles to drive in four runs for the Owls in the win.
For Houlton, Carolyn Mooers singled and doubled.
The Lady Shires defeated Madawaska, 13-4, behind Kristen Graham’s triple, three singles and four RBIs. Tyra Gentle added a pair of singles and had three RBIs.
Theriault led the Owls with a single, double and triple to bring in three runs.
The Houlton girls led 8-4 after four innings en route to the win.

SACS 4, Wisdom 26 — Last Friday in St. Agatha, the Southern Aroostook girls were overpowered, as Bailey Bellefleur belted a grand slam and Tyra Michaud tripled twice and doubled twice to provide the offense for the Pioneers.
Jessica Nye doubled for Southern Aroostook, while Kennedi Smith had two base hits.
East Grand/GHCA 17, SACS 4 — Last Wednesday in Dyer Brook, the East Grand/GHCA team raced by their hosts. No information was provided for this game.
