WESTON – Herbert Clair Robertson joined his Lord on the golden streets of Heaven on May 7, 2015. Herbert was born in Weston, February 15, 1925, to Harold and Frances (Weeks) Robertson.
He graduated from Danforth High School in 1942, and married his high school sweetheart, Ione Noyes, in 1945. He and Ione raised their children and many others on Smart Ridge. Herbert was a farmer, dairyman, selectman, Boy Scout Leader, school bus driver, Eastern Maine Electric Board Member, logger, transfer station attendant and retired from Maine Department of Transportation after 30-plus years. He was active in the Church of Christ leading Bible study and occasionally doing sermons.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Ione; daughters, Brenda Ashey of Weston, Nancy and her husband, Larry Clark of Searsport; brother, Earl and wife, Natalie; and sister, Alta White; grandchildren, Dwayne and Dawn Young, Pam and Tyler Davis, Eric and Lynette Young, James Ashey and Renee Howard, and Crystal and Jeff Allen; great-grand-children, Christopher Yeo, April and Leo King, Travis Davis, Tyrell Davis, Paige Young, Lucas Young, Tyrone Davis, Tyler Davis and Trenady Davis; great-great-granddaughter, Myia King; special friends, Mike and Laura Huff; and many nieces and nephews. Herbert was predeceased by his parents; brother, Orville; sisters, Dorothy and Edith; and a son, Herbert, Jr.
Visiting hours were Sunday, May 10, from 1:30-3 p.m. at the Calvary Gospel Assembly, Danforth, with funeral services at 3 p.m., with Pastor Robert Root and Pastor Rick Libby officiating. Interment was at Trout Brook Cemetery, Weston. Fellowship and lunch immediately followed services at the Robert McKinnon Building, Danforth. Arrangements by Bowers Funeral Home, Houlton.
