    HOULTON – Barbara Lee (Roush) Potter, 74, passed away May 11, 2015. She was born December 5, 1940, at U.S. Army Station Hospital at Fort Snelling, Minnesota.
    She attended Munich American High School in Munich, Germany for two years and then graduated from Clover Park High School in Washington State in 1958. Barbara attended Washington State University before transferring to Western Washington State College where she graduated with her teaching degree in 1964. She worked as a camp counselor and taught high school home economics in Washington. In the early 1970s, she taught preschool in North Dakota before taking time off to raise her children. In the early 1990s, she volunteered with the preschool program and Special Education at Fort Fairfield Elementary School and also served as the Volunteer Coordinator. Barbara loved children, especially her grandchildren. She was an avid reader, loved flower gardens, and loved to cook.
    Barbara is survived by a son, Barrett Potter and his wife, Mary of Houlton; daughter-in-law, Lynn Jandreau-Potter of Caribou; daughter, Julianne Dunleavy and her husband, Jim, Jr. of Presque Isle; grandchildren, Carson Potter, Rachel and Isaac Potter, and Kelsie Dunleavy; siblings, Paul, Roger and Gwen. Barbara is predeceased by her father, Roger Raymond Roush who was in the Army and stationed in Hawaii, Germany and the United States; her mother, Pauline Irene Kruse; and her son, Bradley Potter.
    Family would like to say a special thank you to the staff of Gardiner Health Care Facility for their care over the past two years.
    Friends may call from 1-2 p.m. Thursday, May 14 at Bowers Funeral Home, 10 Water St., Houlton, where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. with Reverend Randall Burns officiating. Donations in her memory may be made to the Greater Houlton Christian Academy, 27 School St., Houlton, Maine.
