HOULTON – Rosamond Doris-Marie Wright, 77, passed away June 18, 2015, at her son’s residence. She was born May 14, 1938, in Watson Settlement, NB, Canada, the daughter of Charles and Janet (Elvin) Upton.
Rose grew up in Watson Settlement and graduated from Woodstock High School. She met and married Gerald Wright at Richmond Corner in 1959, then moved to Houlton to raise their family. Rose worked at Aroostook General Hospital and Houlton Regional Hospital for many years. She worked for Houlton Farms Dairy for 38 years and was still working. She loved knitting, sewing, and reading. Rose enjoyed traveling to Bar Harbor, St. Stephen and St. Andrews. She also traveled to England a couple of times. Rose was a kind, loving person who will be greatly missed.
Rose is survived by her two sons, David Wright of New Limerick, Stephen Wright and his wife, Crystal, of Houlton; granddaughter, Violet Rose-Mary Wright; special family friend, Alicia Marie Bell; her sister, Gaynelle McLaughlin and her, husband, Gary, of Woodstock, NB, Canada; four sisters-in-law, Maxine Gildred, Jean Emery, Mary Arch and Elizabeth Cone; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents and her husband, Gerald, in 2013.
Friends called at the Dunn Funeral Home on Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. and Monday at Saint Mary of the Visitation Church 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at 10 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Saint Mary of the Visitation Church on Monday at 10 a.m. with Rev.
