Joseph M. Whitaker and Sherry S. (Jackins) Whitaker of Silver Spring, Maryland announce the engagement of their son, Bryan Joseph Whitaker, to Sara Da Silva Pereira, daughter of her late mother, Pastor Maria Do Rosario da Silva Pereira – and her late father, Pastor Gilberto De Santana Pereira Filho of Bahia, Brazil.
Bryan is a graduate of Thornton Friends High School and attends Montgomery College. He works as an office manager for a local home improvement company.
Sara graduated from Escola Estadual Hamilton De Jesus Lopes. She also attends Montgomery College and is a childcare provider for a daycare program.
A June 2016 wedding is planned.
