Another beautiful week for great golfing at VaJoWa! Congratulations to Becky Kelley for her hole-in-one on number seven on Sunday, July 19!
On July 14, after the Ladies’ Day Clinic, a three-person scramble was held. Coming in first with a 41 was Bev Osborne, Carol Blood and Dawn Merry. Second was Terry Pettengill, April Bates and Jennifer Metzger with a 44. Lois Kelley, Cheryl Quint and Deb Porter were in third with a 48. Ladies golf is every Tuesday — rain or shine! This free clinic is open to all ladies and begins at 9 a.m. followed by golf (weather permitting).
Pairs and Spares Mixed Scramble: First, Greg Douglas, Goldie Gushee, John Porter and Ralph Powers 33*; second, Brenda Carmen, Becky Kelley, Bev Osborne and Betty Smallwood 33*; and third, Carol Blood, Sara Douglas, Debbie Porter, Dick Kelley and Stu Kelley 34* (* all final positions determined by handicap holes).
Pairs and Spares golfers meet on Sundays at 2:30. p.m. There is a $2.50 entry fee per person. Come join us!
Twilight League is under way but due to weather many matches have not been played. Please remember to make up your matches prior to the next Tuesday. Thank you!
Friday, July 24 at 1 p.m., we will be having our 50th Anniversary Scramble. This will be an 18-hole scramble will be a four-person scramble with both net and gross prizes. The cost is $20 per person with a special $10 green fee for non-members. Cart is not included. Join us in continuing our 50 year celebration.
On Friday, July 31, we will be hosting our Annual Moonlight Golf Tournament. Sign up with your four-person team for this fun-filled event. The cost is $20/member and $30/non-member (cart and one glow ball included). The field is limited to 50 so bring your flashlights and have a ball!
