HOULTON, Maine — The County Open Golf tournament was played Saturday at the Houlton Community Golf Club under beautiful, sunny conditions, while a scramble was also held Sunday at VaJoWa in Island Falls.
The winners for Saturday’s tournament in Houlton were:
Men’s A Division — 1st Gross, Austin Lancaster; 1st Net, Tim McAuliffe; 2nd Gross, Porter Gervais; and 2nd Net, Ryan Dee.
Men’s B Division — 1st Gross, Dick York; 1st Net, Chuck Moody; 2nd Gross, Marty Bouchard; 2nd Net, Matt Quint; 3rd Gross, Dave Edgar; and 3rd Net, Tom Moakler.
Men’s C Division — 1st Gross, Dewey Dewitt; 1st Net, Wayne Quint; 2nd Gross, Don Collins; and 2nd Net, Francis Cyr.
Woman’s Division — 1st Gross, Nancy Thompson; 1st Net, Cait Dwyer-Cain; 2nd Gross, Lauren McAuliffe; 2nd Net, Jenn Carr; 3rd Gross, Louann Dwyer; and 3rd Net, Lori Holmes.
The winners of the Scramble were: 1st Gross, Cameron Clark, Ryan Dee, Alex Donovan and Porter Gervais; 1st Net, Peter Lawlor, Bill Boulier, Tom Ryan and Alston Crandall; 2nd Gross, Tim Thoreson, Scot Walker, Lauren McAuliffe and Steve Merry; 2nd Net, Bill Hollis, Bill Dwyer, Louann Dwyer and Cait Dwyer-Cain; 3rd Gross (tie) team of Dave Edgar, Mike Fleming, Greg Palmer and Jerry York and team of Brian McAuliffe, Joe McAuliffe, Tim McAuliffe and Adam Derosier; 3rd Net, Clay Halliday, Corey Halliday, Steve Souther and Caleb Mathers.
On Sunday, golfers took to VaJoWa for a four-person scramble. The results were as follows: 1st Gross with a 59 was Cameron Clark, Ryan Dee, Alex Donovan and Porter Gervais; 2nd Gross was Tim Thorenson, Scot Walker, Lauren McAuliffe and Steve Merry with a 62; and 3rd gross (tie) teams of Dave Edgar, Mike Flemming, Greg Palmer, Jerry York and Brian McAuliffe and the teams Joe McAuliffe, Tim Mc Auliffe and Adam Derosier (the fourth name was not included), at 63.
Also, 1st Net, with a 50.8, went to the team of Peter Lawlor, Tom Ryan, Billy Boulier, Alston Crandall, while 2nd Net went to Bill Hollis, Bill Dwyer, Luann Dwyer, and Cait Dwyer-Cain with a 52.3 and 3rd Net was Clay Halliday, Corey Halliday, Steven Souther and Caleb Mathers with a 54.3.
