Chris Chamberlain has been a guest of his father, Alain Chamberlain, at the family camp on Lower Mattawamkeag Lake for two weeks. While here he enjoyed the fishing and exploring the surrounding towns. Before he left to return to his home in Virginia, he climbed Mt. Katahdin and really enjoyed the view from there.
Eddie Webb, youngest son of Buddy and Audrey (Curry) Webb, has recently spent several days with his aunt, Charlene Webb, and the two of them, working together, made 18 quarts of mincemeat which will be enjoyed by them both. It takes a pile of work to grind all the meat, apples and raisins, so I am sure it will taste extra good to them.
I have been doing a lot of weeding lately in my flower gardens, as the weeds seem to grow extra fast when it rains.
I have also been enjoying the swimming at Vacationland Estates along with a group of friends that should be calling themselves the “mermaids of the pool,” as the same group (about eight of us) have a fun time from about 8 a.m. until about 10. We really do swim, too, besides exchanging gossip!
No wildlife has been seen recently, but I have discovered that a groundhog is now camping under my barn. He was seen by a friend the other day, who came in and reported the sighting. I wonder now how to get rid of him. Hopefully, my neighbor may attempt to trap him and haul him away.
