Hello, everyone. Will try to write a few words today as I haven’t submitted a “Rumblings” in awhile. My latest misfortune kept me “down,” so unlike me.
Dale Defoe raised some strawberries. She stopped me in the hall and gave me a handful. They were delicious, so sweet, too. Thanks, Dale, for sharing.
Our liaison, Charlene Henderson, had a beautiful bouquet of flowers given to her by one of our tenants with the expression she needed a little cheering up. The flowers were beautiful and so was the thought.
Our swing, the one near the entrance of the plaza, is back. Some of us really missed it but now we can swing to our hearts’ content. Thank you, Mike.
Sent a few things to our community store for “Good as New” yesterday. My “things” contained cups, salt and pepper shakers, empty milk containers, slacks, tops and a few other treasures.
Lavina Byron entertained her two sisters from Madigan Estates a few days ago. Lavina had homemade pizza and they enjoyed the end of the afternoon on the swing. The sisters are well known as the “Cogswell Girls,” Gerry Dunn and Norma Bates. The pizza, they said, was delicious, as they are well acquainted with their sister’s cooking. Previously Lavina had a friend join them and they all played Scrabble, their favorite game.
Saddie Carmichael tells some humorous stories while entertaining us on the swing. Some of them I can’t repeat but it gets us all laughing, especially the one about her husband and the horses. Saddie is blessed with visits from her children and grandchildren.
We miss seeing Carmen Chasse and Sylvia Thompson, former third-floor tenants. Where are you ladies?
One of Joyce Bryant’s favorite pastimes is yard or garage sales. She came by the other day with a white shoe rack for a quarter. That’s a bargain, Joyce.
Denise Hitchcock and her next-door neighbor Barbara treated us (those on the swing) with ice-cream cones. Boy, did that taste good. Thank you, ladies, for your kindness.
Thomas Suitter’s cousin Sally Reed is at the nursing home, Gardiner Home and Health Facility. Sally fell and broke her hip. Thomas rides to see her on his bicycle. I’m sure they enjoy each other.
Stephanie James’ son was visiting from out of state recently. They attended a wedding in Island Falls, I believe, and had a lot of fun.
Kathryn Hall was a Saturday-Sunday visitor of her mother, Lois Downing. They attended a surprise 75th birthday party for Joyce Estey, with the Take Off Pounds group, Chapter 0233. They had a super time and it was a delight to see Joyce and her friends and family.
My angel verse for the day is “Through strife or storm or darkest night, My angel is there to show me his light.”
Have a good week, spend with family and friends. God bless.
