HOULTON, Maine — School bells will soon be ringing for students, signaling the start of another academic year. The first day of school for RSU 29 students in grades K through 6 and grade 9 is Monday, Aug. 31, 2015, while those in grades 7 and 8 and 10 through 12 get one extra day off as their classes resume Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2015.

To coincide with the start of school, RSU 29 has launched a new district website, according to Superintendent Ellen Schneider. “We encourage everyone to utilize our newly renovated website, which is still a work in progress, at www.rsu29.org,” she said. “The district Facebook page posts important information and notifications from time to time, and that can be found under “RSU 29 School District.”
All office staff are back in the schools full time as of Thursday, Aug. 20. The following are contact numbers should a parent need to reach their child’s school or other resources. Prices for breakfast and lunch this year are as follows: breakfast, all grades, $1; and lunch, pre-K to grade 2, $2.35 and grades 3-12, $2.60.
