Merrill Cruise In is this weekend

MERRILL — The 5th annual Cruise-In will be this Friday evening at Merrill Millstream Park on U.S. Route 212l.  This is one of the premiers events organized by the Merrill Millstream Park Committee and has seen consistent participation growth each year.

According to event organizer Ken Bustard, several new features are included this year that are sure to make it even more family oriented.  “There will be a ‘carnival game’ where children (young and old) can win one or more stuffed animals such as cars, a T-Rex and Pluto,” he said. “These are quality stuffed characters, donated by Kohls Department Store. Also, two bicycles will be given away to one lucky boy and one girl, between ages of 5 and 12.  Both the carnival games and bicycle raffle are free.”
This year’s  menu, which has traditionally been lobster,  has been expanded to include Italian fair sausage. “This will appeal to the small percentage whose palate isn’t as tantalized by the crustacean flavor,” Bustard said.
North Country Cruisers has been the dominant presence at past cruise-ins. However, many individuals have come from as far as Fort Fairfield, Millinocket and Canada.
“Everyone is invite and encouraged to attend, with our without a vintage automobile,” Bustard said. “This is a great ‘go to event’ for members of the motorcycle community as well.  Anyone liking to socialize, enjoy great food, and listen to some 60s music while enjoying free popcorn, is sure to have a great evening.”
