HOULTON, Maine — The Ark Animal Sanctuary will host an evening of food and music 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19 as part of the group’s inaugural “Grill and Chill” barbecue. The event will feature a menu of all-you-can eat smoked pork and turkey with all of the appropriate fixings — cole slaw, potatoes, beans, corn bread, with sweet tea or raspberry lemonade, as well as a sundae bar.
The event will also include a silent auction, thanks to the generosity of local businesses and friends of the Ark, so come prepared to bid on some awesome items. All funds raised will support the Ark’s continued efforts to rebuild. Participants will also get a sneak peek at all of the work that’s gone into making a new home for animals in need.
The cost is $20 per person or $10 for children and seniors and will be held at the Ark’s location on 102 Old Woodstock Road.
