KISSIMMEE, FLA. – Kim D. McPhee, 67, son of Percy and Eleanor (Corbett) McPhee left this world on September 7, 2015 the same way that he entered it, toothless.
Vanceboro High class of 1966 Valedictorian was an honor he reminded us of frequently, however he neglected to mention that there were only 11 in his class. Kim served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. Attending Ricker College, he earned his Business Administration Degree in 1978. From that point on he used that degree wisely by knowing everyone’s business, therefore earning himself the nickname “Columbo.” In July of 2003 one of the nations most outstanding and finest US Customs inspectors retired and his supervisors were grateful as their opinions differed. Kim was a lifetime member of the Houlton Lodge of Elks, where he enjoyed many nights at the card table.
He leaves behind his greatest joy and legacy, his family; beloved wife, Peggy McPhee of Kissimmee, FL; daughters, Michele and Randy Weeks of Kissimmee, FL and Jennifer and Matthew Leslie of Lynchburg, Va.; step-children, Dianne and Wayne Hawes of Carmel, ME, and James and Kathy Dolan of TN; 13 beautiful grandchildren, McKenzie, Riley and Ian Coleman, Chris Weeks, Joshua and Jordan Leslie, Cortney and Cameron Hawes, Danyette Oldenburg and Brad Dolan, Deshara Killian, Dakota and Correy Dolan, two great-grandchilden, Zoey Oldenburg and Alyssa Killian, his siblings Charles and Martha McPhee of Alexander, ME; Lorrie and Doug Growe of Hampden, ME and Tara and Scott Austin of Linneus, ME; sisters-in-law Jayne Abbott of New Limerick, Kathy and Robert of Oregon and Bobbi and Rick of VA; several nephews, one special niece, aunts, uncles, cousins, numerous friends and former wife and mother to his daughters, Bev Ivey.
He also leaves behind his precious Caty girl and big brother Lucas who brought much love, joy and wet kisses to his life.
Preceded in death by his parents and brother, Kevin McPhee. Kim felt that six months was enough time and that he must join them as not to lose his title of being “Momma’s Boy” and “the favorite.”
A private celebration of Kim’s life will be held at a later date.
