HOULTON – John L. Putnam, 90, passed away peacefully Sept. 17, 2015. He was born November 15, 1924, in Houlton, the son of Aaron and Marie (Hacker) Putnam.
Except for a brief stint in the U.S. Army, John lived his entire life at the family homestead in Houlton. He enjoyed walking his many boxers over the years on the rolling fields behind the house, tending his vegetable garden, and cross country skiing. John was an avid harness horse racing fan and an excellent golfer. He enjoyed many Saturday mornings teeing it up with his brother, Hacker and cousins, Albert and Fred Putnam, where he routinely broke 80.
John was predeceased by his parents; his brother, Aaron (Hacker); and sisters, Elizabeth and Maria Louise. At John’s request, there will be no services. A service of Dunn Funeral Home, Houlton.
